## From Grass to Glory: The Hook100 Story
Imagine turning your morning lawn clippings into something extraordinary. That’s exactly what inspired our Hook100 storage system. By combining grass clippings with recycled plastic, we’ve created a bio-composite material that’s 75% lighter than conventional plastic while maintaining the same strength and durability. This isn’t just about creating hooks – it’s about reimagining what’s possible with materials we often overlook.
The result? A versatile storage solution that embodies circular economy principles. Each Hook100 represents a step away from petroleum-based plastics and toward a future where waste becomes a resource. The grass fibers are sourced from local farms surrounding our partner’s bio-refinery in Germany, creating a supply chain that’s as thoughtful as the product itself.
## Giving Wood a Second Life
Our table collection tells a different but equally important story. Using strips of recycled wood, we create surfaces that carry both history and hope. Each table top is a careful composition of wood that might otherwise have been discarded, transformed into furniture that’s both beautiful and responsible.
This approach does more than just conserve resources – it actively fights deforestation by reducing demand for new timber. The result is furniture with character, where every mark and grain tells a story of material rescue and renewal.
## The Softness of Sustainability: Bloom Lighting
Our Bloom lamp series proves that sustainable materials can be surprisingly sophisticated. Made from 100% wool sheep felt, each lamp is a testament to renewable resources done right. The wool we use is naturally renewable, biodegradable, and processed using traditional methods that respect both the material and the environment.
Like a flower opening to the sun, each Bloom lamp takes its final shape through gravity, creating an organic form that’s as much about the material’s natural properties as it is about design. The result is lighting that brings warmth to your space while treading lightly on the planet.
## Cork: Nature’s Leather
The Mat collection showcases one of nature’s most remarkable materials: cork leather. Harvested from cork oak trees in Spain without harming the tree itself, cork leather offers a sustainable alternative to traditional leather and synthetic materials. These trees continue producing cork for up to 200 years, making it one of the most sustainable natural materials available.
What makes cork truly special is its natural properties – it’s water-resistant, durable, and completely biodegradable. By choosing cork, we’re not just creating beautiful products; we’re supporting traditional cork forests that are vital ecosystems for countless species.
## SHRED: Fashion’s Second Chance
Perhaps our boldest material story comes from the SHRED collection. Made entirely from recycled textile waste, these pieces give new life to old clothes and household fabrics. Consider this: it takes 26,000 liters of water to produce just one kilogram of cotton. By using recycled textiles, we’re not just reducing waste – we’re conserving the massive resources required for new textile production.
Each SHRED piece is unique, carrying the colors and textures of its previous life while promising something entirely new. It’s a perfect example of how waste can become wonder through thoughtful design.

Hook100
What does a pair of vintage roller skates, a sack of oranges and your favourite waistcoat have in common…? No idea, but what we do know is: they can all look good hanging in your garage, kitchen or perhaps the back of your bed room door.
The Hook100 storage system is made possible by combining a strong bio-plastic hook, a strap of jute webbing and a steel bracket. The brackets are designed to either attach to a wall or simply clip to the top of a regular door.
Once installed the Hook100 system gives a multitude of common, unique, bizarre and or random objects a place to hang out – ready for everyday use or just admiration.

The Work Pod
We are really getting into our outdoor structures…casitas, outdoor toilets and now the ‘Work’ Pod!
Creating outdoor spaces surrounded by nature not only enhances creativity but these days its also a great way of taking the office to your garden. We’ve been asked for a while to come up with a design so here it is.
Small, compact and functional and above all affordable. The work pod snugly fits a desk, a fold out sofa and a wood burner . The large double glazed, wrap-around windows and insulated walls and roof make the space warm in winter and cool in summer.
The office Pod is adaptable in shape and size so if you interested in one for your outdoor space get in touch!
Tiny House
Living the dream is not easy… but it is totally worth it once you get things going and find your flow.
The core idea behind noThrow design is about designing for a shiny green future and not for landfill… not only products but homes too, tiny homes to be exact.
So here is the one we built. Its called ‘Can Midge’ and we are very happy with the results. The idea at large was to work, play and live the eco-life, seek out sustainable living and explore and expand on it where possible. So part of that was clicking off the grid, plugging in some solar panels and putting on the tool belt.
Plenty of sunshine is what keeps things switched on and powered up, and the tiny structure is what keeps things dry, warm and happy.
Of course all the materials were locally sourced and at times experimental, and where possible we used recycled/reclaimed content. The front and back doors where reclaimed from a flat being refurbished in Barcelona, and a lot of the wood was recycled.
Sheep wool is what we used for the insulation, wool is great in ares with high humidity, and especially good at keeping the heat in the winter time and out in summer.

Compost Toilet
A compost toilet is a great way to get a loo with a view and an important part of going grid free.
Here is what we designed and built. A ‘functional fairytale’ look is how things ended up. Design plans for this will be available soon in our Do It Locally section of our site, so that you to can build it yourself wherever you are.
Bloom 2.0
Our Bloom lamps are now available in a new colour – natural sand coloured felt!
Bloom is a flower shaped pendent light made from 100% wool felt. Like a flower Bloom ‘grows’ under gravity into its final plump shape.
Bloom comes flat packed with linen covered cable and ceiling rose for easy installation. You can order Bloom via our online shop. More info and pictures HERE

Why noThrow? We named ourselves noThrow to continuously remind ourselves to create products that are specifically built to last, using natural, recycled or sustainable materials. Products that spend more time in our homes than in the landfill.
